Marking its 25th year of empowering women to live free from domestic violence, abuse and fear the South Liverpool Domestic Abuse Service (SLDAS) held a celebration event on November 23 to honour survivors and thank supporters.
SLDAS project outreach worker Laura said: “Just to say the evening was amazing! Despite the weather warnings impacting our numbers, the women that were there absolutely raised the roof! We had a great time celebrating 25 years of SLDAS. “
The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Richard Kemp CBE. opened the celebration event along with Merseyside Police Commissioner Emily Spurrell and the charity’s trustees and board. SLDAS received generous support from many local businesses for its fundraiser. Over £200 was raised through a raffle on the evening. Guests were treated to live music and keynote speakers sharing stories of the lives that have been transformed thanks to SLDAS.
SLDAS Director Rebecca Radcliffe comments: “A huge thank you goes out to all our volunteers and supporters who have kept the charity going for the past quarter of a century. We have grown from strength to strength in solidarity with the women and girls we have been able to help.”
